Buying a Business
Sean has roots in business, coming from a family of Greengrocers and Restauranteurs. After a 17-year stint as an Air Traffic Controller in the RAF, Sean entered business via several consulting roles and via property franchising with Northwood. He cold-started Northwood offices in Doncaster and Lincoln, and acquired a busy office in Cambridge. He re-purposed Taylor Mayers in 2011 in order to help sell one of his estate agency offices, and the success of this has led to requests for help from many, many more offices since. He has a deep understanding of the mechanics that enable a property business to flourish and can relate these to buyers with ease.
He has helped the business forge close links with finance companies and brokers, meaning that Taylor Mayers has the ability to not only sell your business, but to ensure your buyer can access swift, reasonable finance packages.
When not in the office, Sean can usually be found on a golf course (losing to Rhys!), walking the Lincolnshire fields with his dogs (and wife!) or visiting his other children in Leeds or in Northumberland. He's a long-suffering Welsh rugby fan and takes every opportunity to visit Cardiff and cheer on the boys.
Rhys joined the family Estate and lettings agency businesses at a tender age of 16, working part-time to fund his expensive habit of buying new golf equipment. He graduated from the Lee Westwood school of golf in Essex in 2015 having studied golf (of course) and sports performance. He declined the option of a professional golf career to enter the family business and build a career within sales, marketing and finance.
Rhys spent two years as the owner/director of a Century 21 office in Peterborough, learning at the coal-face about buying, running and selling an estate and lettings agency. After selling the office in 2019 he returned full-time into Taylor Mayers armed with solid knowledge and experience about what makes an office tick.
Rhys is the office guru on accounts analysis, valuations, financial forecasts and getting your business to market. He has been responsible for some of the office's largest listings and sales and has a long list of plaudits commending his services.
Outside of the office, Rhys is on a break from renovating houses, because it interferes with his golf!
